Devin An Answer for a Question

This response came from a question posed by a member of a support group to which I belong in Happy Cow, CA. The question: “what makes a person a cool ts”? (TS = Transsexual). What follows was my response to the question: A cool person is one is who supports you, even if they don't understand. They won't discard you like last night's supper scraps, or yesterday's paper simply because you're a person who is TS. Cool people will share java with you, treat you as a fellow human being and include y… Continue

Jannie Lynn Going back to where it all began

I know it might sound strange but I simply have to leave and face the things in my past. I can't run any more and this time is the last for me. No longer will I be going back as the person I once was because that is impossible on so many levels. Instead I am going back to where it all began the Town, the home, the past family that no longer accepts me I am going to face each and every one of them to let them know that I still care and that even if they don't feel good about this I certainly do.… Continue

Jannie Lynn Part two Transgender Michigan

Well I thought I might stay in Michigan for a few days maybe a week but instead I found a job and started a new journey of my life one that had a lot of unknowns. I was able to meet with and even find a place to stay the trans activist Michelle Fox-Phillips. now when I met this woman she appeared small and frail and to be honest a little scarry. But I needed help and she was offering to help me so I took it. Now I have been in Michigain for several months. What I have come to find out is that Mi… Continue

Devin The Phone Seldom Rings

The phone seldom rings. Three years have passed since I left People move on, Life goes on. I see my planet with new eyes; nothing is the same, even though I have not moved. I often feel like the proverbial 800 lb gorilla; or Moses as people step out of my way to avoid associating with me. (Think parting of the sea of people) I have backed away from most people, sometimes for self preservation, other times to avoid embarrassing others with my presence when I sense their discomfort. Folk tha… Continue

Devin Friday Night, Starbucks

I look out of the corner of my eye to the left and note a couple enjoying Starbucks by candlelight. Dusk is beginning to settle into this corner of Happy Cow. I note her smile, easy laugh and the fellow she is with is doing the same. They reach across the table, holding each other’s hands, discussing various memories, their lives, etc. They talk; laugh as their discussion goes on into the early evening. Coffee shared is an experience. I think I’ve forgotten. My truck went in for service earl… Continue

Leslie Crawford Are We Here To Judge Others

I seem to find this everywhere people wanting to judge you. I judge no one but they ask I will and can give them my experience on that question. I think too many try to be your Therapist and try to tell you your faults. Support and help are one thing but putting someone down especially in front of everyone to see or read is wrong. I try never to hurt anyone's feelings because most of us that are transitioning or thinking about it are full of emotions good and bad. I get so tired of being told I'… Continue

Devin Summer School (a transitioner's tale)

Lesson 1: Most people you come in contact have already been through puberty before. Other folk may get a chuckle out of your voyage, but to be honest, are more concerned with other important topics (at least to them) such as children, the job, the state of the world. Remember the old saying, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do" or at least go along with the crowd. It may be hard to deal with, but you'll probably score points with those around you. Save the details of the voyage for when someone a… Continue

Devin Sunday Afternoon Analogy

Imagine a house if you will. The house is very nice, the plumbing and electricity work. The outside of the home is well kept and looks great. Yet, there is this inescapable feeling that something is wrong. You never really get comfortable in that house. You can rearrange this or change that or redo the yard. Something still isn't right. Now imagine your life is like that house..you've done most anything to adapt, to fit, yet you know deep inside it's just not right. Try as you might, that sadne… Continue

Davida Piper Davida's blog entry for June 18,2009

Hi everyone, This is Davida coming @ you.My finance'Lisa and I are engaged to be married in the near future. However, the state doesn't recognize same sex marriage nor does it recognize common law marriages either. We don't know what to do unless one of us has to play the male role to get marriage.I already bought her an engagement ring. I wish all the states would recognize same sex marriages as we have the same rights and priviledges as regular couples do.We aren't perverts, fags, queers, etc.but y… Continue

Teresa Bowers Forced Feminization-Anything but That!

I started out as a model and have been in the fashion and entertainment industry for over 20 years. Later on I became a makeup artist and have met all kinds of people in every walk of life. Soon men began coming to me for advice about clothing and makeup and I figured it was just harmless fun. After all, that was my job-to make people look their best. It turned into a full time career helping them become the girl of their dreams and I loved it as much as they did! Over the years I've also found… Continue

Jannie Lynn Transgender Indiana the 34th demension of a thousand days journey!

Ok Some thing more recent and I would hope a bit more insight full. I am fast forwarding the story line to the most current time frame that being said here is how life has been as an overall perspective for me. I was stuck with bad dead end jobs working temp jobs part time jobs and then I get a pretty decent job as an optical lab technician, well this job was good and I enjoyed it especially the side projects of making movies for special occassions at work. I definitly found my calling both as a… Continue

Leslie Crawford Its Never To Late

My story covers many years of pain and suffering as most of us have. I knew I was different and wanted to be a girl and not a boy praying many nights as a child please let me wake up a girl in the morning. The 50's and 60's were hard years trying to figure how I could go about changing me into the female I knew I was and reading a story in 1956 about Christine Jorgensen when I was 9 I knew it was possible I just didn't know where or who to tell knowing the penalty if I did and kids are not dumb… Continue

Changling Artist Overview to another transition ...

Over the years I've studied or taught crochet, painting, printmaking, sculpting, microlithography, car repair, filmmaking, sewing and making snow-angels. I'm an ex-Californian with 20 yrs in the northeast, mainly Vermont (which I adore). I love traveling around Europe and the US, especially going to art museums.
25 years teaching & servicing semiconductor manufacturing equipment were ended when I was RIFed this past winter ... so I'm now a 61 year old, retired lesbian, stay-at-home art… Continue
